Key requirements:

Quality control technicians test materials before, during, and after production to measure the characteristics of materials and ensure that they conform to specifications. Responsible for inspecting and testing the raw materials and products to make sure they meet required levels of quality.

 

Skills Required:

·         Provide effective and efficient service to operations team, accepts projects and tasks, diligently strive to continually maintain a clean, professional and safe working lab environment.

·         Ensures quality awareness to the operations team and cooperation with all departments within the plant.

·         Performs the efficient workload day-to-day laboratory activities; routinely inspect and audit the lab equipment to ensue calibration, and reports problems or concerns.

·         Makes recommendations on the refinement of plant measurement and sampling techniques; establishing and documenting quality testing procedures and results, i.e. sample points, frequency and quantity of samples and data collection, record keeping, data analysis and corrective action programs.

·         Tests chemical and biological samples and incoming raw materials to determine their make-up, properties, and adherence to specifications; then advises if the samples are within specified control limits.

·         Monitors supplies, tracks inventory, and performs order requests for lab supplies and equipment to ensure adequate supplies are available.

·         Communicates regularly with the operators and the production management team to keep them informed of chemical and biological testing results, and of quality products.

·         Performs and participates in lab maintenance, such as performing preventative maintenance as required, and diagnosing and troubleshooting lab equipment maintenance related issues.

·         Monitor and perform laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis &Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Quality Management System (QMS) facility specific programs.

·         Monitor certifying agencies, specifications, regulations and requirements to ensure raw material, measuring system(s) and finished product compliance.

·         Participates in the implementation and training of new Lab Technicians and other plant employees on Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) lab processes and procedures, operation of lab equipment, sampling and testing protocols, company Enterprise Resource Planning system and site specific Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.

·         Compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety programs, policies, procedures and regulations to support a safe working environment.

·         Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position.

·         Must be thoroughly familiar with QC and QA procedures and systems, with broad knowledge of physical, chemical and microbiological sciences.

·         Computer expertise:  MS Office proficient and other related technologies to perform the functions required to perform daily tasks.

·         Observes and records operating conditions of units and carries out routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment. 

·         Carries out plant and equipment preparations during start-ups and shut-downs.

 

Qualifications and experience:

·         Completion of Secondary (12 years) education

·         Technical Diploma or equivalent education and experience

·         7+ years’ operational experience in the fertilizer, chemical, or power industry.

·         Detailed technical knowledge of the specific process being operated is required including power production, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, cooling towers, plant air, instrument air, and biological wastewater treatment.

·         Experience in Sulfuric Acid and Phosphoric Acid manufacture is an asset.

·         Must have experience training Operator-Power & Utilities (Trainee’s) in the standard operating and safety procedures, power & utilities plant operation, equipment, troubleshooting and start-up / shut-down procedures.

·         Solid experience in project management (project quality, costs and time schedules) of service agreement & contracts with customers.

Skills required:

·         Assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer in the day to day performance of the work.

·         Understanding of plant process and equipment used in the manufacture of anhydrous ammonia and urea fertilizers is preferred.

·         Specific knowledge of rotating and reciprocating machinery best practices, failure analysis and troubleshooting, vibration analyses, oil sampling, ultrasonic examination techniques, precision alignment, dynamic balancing, baseplate grouting procedures.

a.     Carries out all short term design activities for the mine.  Designs stops, ramps and raises based on Long Term Mine Plan (1 and 5 year).  Discusses with Geologist and Chief Mine Engineer plan intent and previous activities before submitting preliminary designs for discussion, revision and agreement.  Provides ongoing advice and comment to miners in relation to Mine Plans.

 

a.     Carries out detailed cost analysis for all mining and development activities including identifying and costing total tonnages and detailing variance requirements.  Carries out ongoing variance analysis to match plans and achievements providing and discussing cost analysis reports at all levels within the Mine organisation.

 

b.    Designs underground ventilation requirements.  Assesses and records mine ventilation records, takes measurements and discusses requirements.  Presents plans to Chief Engineer and discusses with Mine Captain to ensure requirements can be met and meet needs.  Monitors ongoing underground ventilation, analysing mine reports and following up to update data base.

c.     Prepares internal "raise" designs for ladders, bulk heads etc.  Reviews and discusses designs and makes appropriate modifications.  Issues approved designs.

 

d.    Develops appropriate standards to govern ground control practices, for example the use of rack belts and size bolts.

 

 

e.     Analyses and maintains an accurate data-base of information on gold deposits and grade influence.  Reviews and discusses Geological Report and designs stops with the flexibility required for change.

 

 

2.         Work Performed: (Continued)

 

a.     Prepares required spreadsheets with mine data/statistics and cost information using the SURPAC design and evaluation software.

 

b.    Prepares a variety of monthly reports on mine activities and milestones, providing a summary of projects, completion and work in progress.

 

c.     Carries out various special projects at the mine including making blasting procedure analysts, writing cycletive reports, detailing drill head usage and analysing new vehicles and impacts.

 

3.         Work Contacts:

Frequent contacts with the mine at the level of Mine Captain and with geological staff at a senior level to carry out regular design work, to obtain and discuss information and to carry out surveys.

 

4.         Independence of Operation:

Will determine work according to technical and professional policies and standards, balancing the demands for regular analysis and reporting of mine activities and achievements with the requirements for special projects and surveys.  Work is professionally in nature involving the presentation of advantages and disadvantages of differing actions proposed.  Will refer upwards design problems for discussion, review and decision.  Work is subject to regular review.

 

5.         Physical Effort:

            Will spend 20% of the time underground walking and standing.

 

6.         Work Environment:

20% of the time is spent underground exposed to the normal mine conditions of dirt, fumes and noise.

Purpose of the job:

The Superintendent Process Engineering will be responsible for the definition and the efficient and safe execution of investment projects in time and budget. The projects range from smaller modifications to million projects, new installations and changes. Depending on the project he/she will be either the project lead or even contribute as a participant. The position will liaise with internal experts and will be the key contact for all projects on site.

 

The jobholder will be responsible to manage his/her team towards short and long-term objectives and will foster an environment conductive to change and innovation.

 

Skills Required:

·         Maintain as our highest priority the protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products.

·         Experience and ability to review beneficiation design, management and interpretation of mineralogy studies, and the interaction of the plant capability with respect to ore processing performance.

·         Must have strong leadership skills directing engineers and full understanding of plant operations and process engineering.

·         Prior supervisory experience preferred.

·         High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

·         Perform specific duties of the Operations Manager during absences away from the plant.

·         Support and establish priorities for LP VCM capital engineering by obtaining input from production personnel.

·         Establish direct communication lines with other similar plants to develop a troubleshooting network.

·         Develop long term solutions to issues through engineering and cost analysis.

·         Manage the capital budget, interface with the project engineering department as necessary to recommend, prioritize, design, and install new processes and equipment as required to meet the long term vision.

·         Manage the overall production plan for shutdowns. Develop (with process supervisors’ input) detailed shutdown, decontamination, and start-up plans for major plant shutdowns. Provide technical assistance to the Process supervisor during planning for minor equipment/process shutdowns.

 

Qualifications and experience

·         University degree in Engineering (e.g. Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Development, Agricultural, Food Science or Mechanical Engineering)

·         Mining, Chemical or Mechanical Engineer with relevant experience.

·         Must have a minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in plant operation, process engineering, ore beneficiation, mineral processing or similar experience.

·         Minimum 15 years’ experience as a Process Engineer.

Qualifications and experience:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Instrument and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with proven track record in training.

·         10 - 12 years in maintenance or technical management preferably in the Chemical or Petro-Chemical industry, with 5 to 7 of those years in a managerial role in Maintenance or Engineering services.

·         Experience in mineral processing is an asset.

We are seeking a capable, experienced surveyor to join our growing team. In this position, you will conduct precise measurements of land boundaries, geographical and man-made features, latitude and longitude, elevation, and any other relevant data, as needed by our clients. You will process all necessary calculations and generate reports, maps, etc. in order to help our clients in their engineering, construction, and/or development process.

 

Skills Required:

·         Must be able to conduct physical site surveys using a variety of equipment and tools

·         Must have solid experience working with GPS survey equipment and proper surveying techniques

·         Experience with earthwork construction and site preparation

·         Able to prepare sketches and notes, and perform electronic data collection.

·         Prepare site surveying documents as needed.

·         Process field data, coordinate field staff, and interface with CAD group.

·         Prepare legal descriptions.

·         Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.

·         Schedule projects in logical steps and budget, calculate time and resources required to meet deadlines and profitability targets.

·         Review CAD drawings prepared by survey technicians.

·         Calculate areas of land parcels to be acquired using mathematics and computer software.

·         Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.

·         Must be able to work with minimally skilled personnel to complete field surveys

 

Qualifications and experience:

·         BSc Degree in surveying

·         5 to 8 years minimum experience as a Surveyor Engineer
